I never met Mrs. Fay Alailima but I feel like I know her personally, when my teacher in Fia-Iloa School 5th Grade, 1971-72, read to us the entire book, "My Samoan Chief" so intriguing that 9-10 year olds would sit there quietly and learn so much about ourselves and our culture. Years later when I worked for her son Le...i'ataua Birdie at TOHS, 2003, I finally got to read the whole book on my own and enjoyed every page. Except for Kilali, I know all of Fay's children, such brilliant minds as those who have contributed a great deal to Samoa and our people. Fa'afetai for being such a trailblazer, Fay, may the God whom you served and loved, comfort & keep your beloved husband Afioga Amituana'i Lei'ataualesa, and family strong. Alu ia oe ile nu'u tumau ma le fiafia! Soifua.
